Shooting in Yerevan: Father and Son from Vahagnak District Transported to Hospital with Gunshot Wounds

On April 25, gunshots were heard in Yerevan. Around 01:20 AM, the Malatia police department received a report about gunfire in the Vahagnak district.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group led by department head Igor Mesropyan was dispatched to the area. While police were investigating the scene, at 02:00 AM, the Malatia police department was informed by the Mikhailian Surgical Institute that two individuals with gunshot wounds had been brought in.

Police and investigators determined that the injured were residents of 4th Street in the Vahagnak district: 62-year-old Harutyun Petrosyan with a "non-penetrating gunshot wound to the left side of the chest" and 27-year-old Davit Petrosyan diagnosed with a "closed fracture of the right thigh, with displacement of the femur." According to doctors, the victims are unable to provide an explanation about the incident.

In connection with the event, materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, and a forensic examination has been ordered by the investigator.

According to G. Shamshyan's information, police and investigators also clarified the crime scene, where fired cartridges were discovered. The photojournalist reports that the injured are a father and son.
