Azerbaijan Views Areas as Territories, We See Them as Security, and Artsakh's Security Is Not Negotiable: Rubinyan
The Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, addressed journalists today regarding the resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) issue and the statement made yesterday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Rubinyan was asked what is currently under discussion. “I believe that both statements—the way Azerbaijan views areas as territories, we see them as security, and the security of Artsakh is not subject to negotiation—fully answer your question,” he stated.
He noted that no document is currently being discussed. Journalists requested comments on Lavrov's statement that a phased solution for the Artsakh issue is being discussed. “I don’t think I should comment on why a certain official makes such or such a statement from a certain country. I am stating the reality, referring to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, who presented the situation and Armenia's position yesterday more than clearly, more than simply,” Rubinyan added.
