Earthquake in Georgia-Russia Border Area; Tremors Felt in Armenia

On April 21, at 10:08 local time (06:08 GMT), a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was registered by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations. The epicenter of the earthquake is located in the Georgia-Russia border area, 32 kilometers southeast of the city of Telavi.

The geographical coordinates of the epicenter are 41.830 degrees north latitude and 45.810 degrees east longitude. The earthquake's hypocenter is at a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake's intensity in the epicentral area was between 5-6 on the Richter scale.

The tremors were felt in the village of Shnogh with an intensity of 3, and in the city of Alaverdi with an intensity of 2-3.
