Young Man Who Drowned in Gegharkunik Province Went Fishing with Friend

As previously reported, a tragic incident occurred in Gegharkunik Province on April 16. A citizen drowned in the Agrija River, located in the hayfield area of the village of Vaghashen. Rescue teams retrieved the body of 37-year-old Levon Hovhannisyan, a resident of Vaghashen.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Vaghashen community mayor Arthur Suvarya mentioned that Levon was accompanied by a friend at the time of the incident, who called the rescue service.

“A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, but I am not aware of the details. However, I know that he went fishing with his friend. He was a very good and hardworking individual, and he was never involved in fights,” the mayor said.

Suvarya also noted that Levon was married, living with his family in the parental home alongside his parents and brother's family. “Levon has three minor children, with the youngest being just one year old,” he added.
