Body with Gunshot Wounds Found in Car on Road to Shorzha: Investigative Committee

On April 17, 2020, at 10:20 AM, a report was received from the "Chambarak B/K" LLC indicating that there was a body with gunshot wounds found inside a car along the road leading to Shorzha.

In response to the incident, the Investigative Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case under Article 104 (murder) of the Armenian Criminal Code at the Sevan Investigative Division of the Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department.

As a result of investigative actions and operational-search measures, it was revealed that during the night of April 17, between 00:00 and 01:00, a 31-year-old resident of the Gegharkunik region fired at a "Porsh" brand vehicle with his registered "MR-155" type smoothbore hunting rifle, causing fatal injuries to the driver, who died at the scene.

The 31-year-old man has been arrested. The hunting rifle used in the crime has been submitted to the prosecuting authority. Appropriate forensic examinations have been scheduled. Ongoing investigations and procedural actions are being conducted to clarify all circumstances of the case. The preliminary investigation continues.
