Sargsyan Has Answered the Questions As Much As He Knows: A. Kocharyan

The head of the commission investigating the circumstances of the April war, Andranik Kocharyan, deems the participation of Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan in the commission's session as appropriate.

“All those who did not wish for Serzh Sargsyan and all responsible officials to appear before the commission and answer our questions should realize by tomorrow that the commission, nevertheless, leaves no doubt that it has not only worked but also created conditions to gather information from all officials as much as possible. In the discussion with Sargsyan, we stated that Yuri Khachaturov’s absence is a mistake; he himself acknowledged it and said that he had talked to Khachaturov before coming here and urged him to attend. It would be appropriate for Khachaturov to come after Sargsyan and answer the questions related to him, so that it would be complete. For reference, one military officer was the Chief of Staff at that time,” said Kocharyan, as reported by Armenpress, adding that they have provided Sargsyan with all the questions, which were quite numerous.

“We have received answers to questions that have been conveyed to us by Serzh Sargsyan, but these are not all the answers to our questions. The questions will be complete when we also hear from other officials. We outlined, and Mr. Sargsyan himself mentioned the names of the officials who have the answers to several of our questions. We have given the questions that we could address to him. He has answered those questions as much as he is aware, but there are things that he may not remember or may not have been briefed on,” Kocharyan stated.
