Quarantine Effective, Positive Tests Found in About 300 Isolated Individuals: Torosyan

Health Minister Arsen Torosyan informed during a government meeting that approximately 300 individuals in quarantine have tested positive. "The quarantine measures are very effective, meaning that if we hadn't implemented them, we would not have identified and confirmed nearly 300 citizens, and it is possible we would have had a larger spread," the minister stated. He added that the hospital bed capacity is currently half-filled.

"If we can maintain this pace and the public follows all our recommendations, and employers adhere to all sanitary and epidemic regulations, we can hope that this situation remains manageable for a long time," Torosyan emphasized. The minister also noted that 537 tests were conducted within a 24-hour cycle; however, the actual number was higher, at 810 tests, with some recorded the following day.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that there is, in fact, one positive test out of every 16 tests, which is positive, and that the peak of the pandemic in Armenia is under control.
