‘Zhamanak’: The Tax Authority’s 1 Million Dollar Deal During the Coronavirus Pandemic
‘Zhamanak’ newspaper reports: ‘At a time when the coronavirus pandemic is raging in the country, leaving hundreds of thousands of citizens nearly unemployed and without income, the head of the Tax Authority, David Ananyan, has signed a contract worth 1 million dollars with the security company ‘Armobil’ for guarding the entrance of the tax office. The deal was made through an ‘urgent’ procurement process, and the invitation and purchase took place during the peak of the coronavirus outbreak, from March 20 to April 1.
The irony is that the Tax Authority has its own guards, in collaboration with the police, for over 25 years. It should be noted that ‘Armobil’ is a familiar name in the security industry, following the principle of ‘one hand washes the other, two hands wash the face’ during previous administrations.
