Turkish Official’s Lie Exposed Regarding Inscription on Chinese Aid Boxes About Ararat
On April 8, a message regarding Mount Ararat on humanitarian aid boxes sent from China to Armenia sparked a stir in Turkey. The inscription read, “Let our friendship be higher than Mount Ararat and longer than the Yangtze River.” Turkish officials expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that by this inscription, Mount Ararat was essentially attributed to Armenia, according to ermenihaber.am.
In response, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hami Aksoy announced that they had sought clarification from the Chinese ambassador in Ankara, Deng Li, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Later, Aksoy made the following statement: “The Chinese ambassador informed us that the aid sent to Armenia was collected by a local government body and was sent to Yerevan through a private organization. The boxes only had inscriptions in Chinese, which did not mention Mount Ararat. We were told that the English language inscriptions regarding Ararat were added later.”
However, the Turkish newspaper “Takvim” published a video showing that the mentioned inscriptions were indeed present on the boxes at the moment they were unloaded from the plane. “Therefore,” the Turkish newspaper states, “the inscription regarding Mount Ararat was not added later as claimed by the Chinese ambassador, but was already there before the shipment from China.”
Additionally, the Chinese publication “Global Times” confirmed that the inscription about Ararat was originally on the boxes and was not added later.
It should be noted that under a special flight initiated by the Armenian government, medical supplies and equipment acquired with state funds, as well as donations from Armenian and Chinese philanthropists, were sent from China to Armenia.
