Thousands of Armenian Citizens Consider the Issue of the Catholicos's Change Important, Says Alen Simonyan

Alen Simonyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, made the following statement on his Facebook page: "Today, His Holiness Catholicos Garegin II stated that he considers the change of Robert Kocharyan's restraining order to be important. I can say that thousands of Armenian citizens have been considering the issue of the Catholicos's change important for a very long time. I believe that citizen Ktirich Nersisyan, who has been silent for decades, can today serve as a guarantor in court for the change of the restraining order for citizen R. Kocharyan, and sufficient financial resources will be found for that."

It should be noted that NEWS.am published today the position of Catholicos Garegin II, which particularly stated: "As for the second President Robert Kocharyan, being aware of the medical professionals' opinions regarding the President's health, we consider it important that alongside the implementation of justice, all preventive measures and actions be taken, including the change of the restraining order, in order to protect him from further complications regarding his health during this pandemic."
