Papikyan Participates in Discussion on Gas Transportation Pricing in EAEU
On April 14, a remote meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Collegium was held in the format of a videoconference, focusing on the working group's discussions regarding the pricing of gas transportation services in the EAEU gas market. The leaders of concerned authorities from the member states of the EAEU participated in the meeting.
Presenting the Armenian government's stance on the matter, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan stated that the proposed regulations should be guided by principles of non-discrimination, transparency, and equal conditions while developing the pricing policy.
According to Minister Papikyan, the regulations aimed at forming a common energy market should stem from coordinated approaches and common goals to ensure economic stability and potential development for the Eurasian Economic Union and its member countries, particularly in post-crisis conditions.
During the meeting, active discussions took place regarding the proposals from the heads of energy sectors of member countries. The coordinated proposals on gas transportation service pricing will be presented to the EAEU Council for approval, with the aim of incorporating them into the draft document of the "Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration Until 2025."
