Hayk Marutyan Visits Yerevan Healthcare Facilities
Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan has visited community-based healthcare facilities to familiarize himself with the conditions set for serving citizens during the state of emergency, as well as the programs aimed at improving the quality of services.
At the Emergency Medical Services Company 'Center,' the mayor learned about the operations of the call center and spoke with doctors. Since February 1, emergency teams have transported 1,545 citizens suspected of having the virus.
Hayk Marutyan expressed gratitude to the doctors for their work during the state of emergency, noting that city authorities are developing new programs to ensure more comfortable conditions for medical personnel and enhance the efficiency of their work.
This year, the Yerevan Municipality plans to complete the renovation program for emergency service stations. The introduction of new electronic programs is also under consideration.
Taguhi Stepanyan, director of the Emergency Medical Services Company, mentioned that the number of calls has decreased in recent days. While emergency teams were handling up to 900 calls a day in February, the current number has reduced to 550-600 calls.
During the visit to the polyclinic, the mayor reviewed the efforts being made for infection prevention. It was noted that isolation units have been established with a separate entrance, serving only citizens exhibiting symptoms of the new coronavirus. The medical personnel are also equipped with special clothing.
Currently, the polyclinics are conducting home monitoring for 428 citizens who have been in contact with infected individuals. On the first day, doctors conduct home visits and then keep in touch with the patients via phone to check on their health status.
