Attempt to Stab Doctor to Escape Quarantine

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Where is the so-called staffing bank for coronavirus patients stored? We asked an official source dealing with the issue. 'If we talk about isolated individuals, in Yerevan there are about 1000 people in quarantine, around 700 in Tsaghkadzor-Agavnadzor, and there are isolated individuals in Tavush as well.' Have all of them been tested? 'Of course, but most of them show no symptoms of the disease. Out of about 150 people, only 10-12 are confirmed - that is the average rate. There is a more delicate issue, so to speak, regarding relationships. There are people who do not want to stay in quarantine, who cannot tolerate isolation - they argue, are rude, and sometimes display unacceptable behavior. There are cases where people have attempted to escape; we do not allow it, and one time, they even tried to stab one of the doctors to make them let them out...'"

It seems that criminal liability is being considered for such cases. 'Imagine if criminal liability is imposed on that many quarantine evaders, what would result from it?' Regarding those refusing to isolate, what percentage are they among contacts? 'In every group, there are usually five or six people.' Is the issue not reaching the diplomatic level? 'No, of course, we are trying to resolve the issue in every way. The last case was difficult - a woman had died, her husband had just returned from Russia and we had isolated him. In the morning, he was supposed to participate in the funeral with police and volunteers, but he was in a psychologically difficult condition, displaying inadequate behavior - he did not comply, which was somewhat understandable... so it’s not easy.'
