11 Million Drams in Violations Detected in the Rental Process of Botanical Garden Land

The Armenian Ministry of Environment has announced that the State Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia has conducted ongoing monitoring at the "Institute of Botany after A. Takhtadzhyan," which operates at the Yerevan Botanical Garden. The purpose of this monitoring was to assess the legality of land leases granted for rent.

During the ongoing monitoring, several violations were recorded. Specifically, the companies "KETRIN GROUP" and "LEVO GROUP" have been found to be using the leased plots in violation of the Armenian Land Code, engaging in activities related to the retail sale of fruits and vegetables and building materials, instead of using the land exclusively for the intended purpose of establishing a botanical garden. One of these companies is still continuing these activities.

Additionally, violations of the Armenian Civil Code were noted, as agreements were entered into without notarization and state registration. The rental fee charged for the area provided to "KETRIN GROUP" was calculated to be approximately 11 million drams less than the amounts determined by the relevant regulations set by the Armenian government.

Furthermore, construction works for an unauthorized fence were carried out by "KETRIN GROUP" on the rented land without the required construction permit, as mandated by law. The report compiled as a result of this ongoing monitoring has been sent to the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia to verify the existence of criminal acts.
