Global Coronavirus Cases Surpass One Million
Worldwide, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has reached 1,009,452. According to data from coronavirus research centers, the death toll has surpassed 52,000, while over 211,878 individuals have recovered.
The United States ranks first in the number of infected individuals, with 240,395 confirmed cases and more than 25,000 new cases reported. The death toll here has exceeded 5,808.
Italy follows as the second most affected country, with 115,242 confirmed cases. Italy is also the leading country in terms of deaths, with 13,915 individuals having succumbed to the virus.
Spain ranks third, reporting 112,065 confirmed cases and approaching Italy in numbers. The total deaths in Spain have surpassed 10,000.
Germany has also exceeded China in terms of infection rates, with 84,788 confirmed cases, including 6,807 new cases and 1,107 deaths.
