Armenian Parliament to Attempt Again to Pass Bill on Recording Phone Calls
The National Assembly has convened an extraordinary session to discuss the Government's proposal for a bill regarding the recording of citizens' telephone calls during the state of emergency declared due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bill was previously rejected in a second vote just hours ago due to lack of sufficient support.
Earlier, National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan announced the registration of members, however, the number of deputies present once again did not meet the quorum required to proceed with the meeting.
The parliamentary majority still has time to gather a sufficient number of deputies to commence the session.
