Wanted Individuals and Weapons Detected

On March 28, police officers discovered three residents of Vanadzor wanted on charges of serious crimes in one of the houses on Abovyan Street in Vanadzor. The operation involved personnel from the Lori regional administration and its subdivisions, along with special forces from the Main Directorate of Criminal Police. Thanks to the professional actions of the police, the operation was successfully completed.

The detained 56 and 40-year-old men were wanted for causing serious bodily harm intentionally. An incident had occurred on March 7 involving them and a 36-year-old resident of Vanadzor at the end of Abovyan Street, where they struck the 36-year-old man with their hands and feet, and the 40-year-old also stabbed him with a knife. The victim was taken to the 'Vanadzor' medical center and remains under medical supervision as he suffered serious injuries.

The third detained individual, a 19-year-old young man, was wanted for burglary charges. During the operation to locate them, officers from the Bazum police station received information that the wanted individuals were hiding in a constructed shelter in one of the houses on Abovyan Street in Vanadzor. A search of the area revealed a factory-numbered Makarov pistol loaded with 8 bullets, grenades with detonators, and over 80 grams of substances resembling marijuana. The findings were seized, and examinations were ordered.

The detained individuals were presented to the Lori regional investigation department and arrested. The 40-year-old man had previously come to the attention of law enforcement. On August 12, officers at the Bazum police station received information about gunfire in an area known as 'Artificial Lakes' in Vanadzor, which resulted in a man being admitted to the 'Vanadzor' medical center. Through urgent operational search activities, police discovered that the 40-year-old man had inflicted a gunshot wound on a young man in the 'Lakes' café. He was located and detained on suspicion of causing gunshot wounds hours later. Subsequent measures led law enforcement to discover the firearm discarded in a river.

The preliminary investigation into both criminal cases is ongoing.
