Video: Criminal Authority Koko Arrested in Vanadzor

On March 28, police officers discovered and detained three residents of Vanadzor wanted on serious criminal charges in one of the houses on Abovyan Street in Vanadzor. This was reported by the police's press service.

In addition to the personnel from the Lori regional administration and subordinate subdivisions, the special forces of the Main Department of Criminal Police were also involved in the operation. Thanks to the professional actions of the police officers, the operation was successfully completed.

The detained individuals, aged 56 and 40, were wanted for causing serious bodily harm intentionally. An incident had occurred on March 7, involving them and a 36-year-old resident of Vanadzor at the end of Abovyan Street. They had attacked the 36-year-old man with their hands and feet, and the 40-year-old man had also stabbed him with a knife. The victim was taken to the 'Vanadzor' medical center and remains under medical supervision, having suffered serious injuries.

The other detainee, a 19-year-old young man, was wanted for committing residential burglary. During the operations to locate them, the police of the Bazum division received information that the wanted individuals were hiding in a shelter constructed in one of the houses on Abovyan Street in Vanadzor. As a result of a search of the area, a factory-numbered 'Makarov' pistol loaded with 8 bullets, grenades with detonators, and over 80 grams of substances resembling marijuana were found. The items discovered were confiscated, and examinations have been ordered.

The detainees were presented to the Lori regional investigative department of the police and arrested. The 40-year-old man was no stranger to law enforcement. On August 12, police officers from the Bazum division had received information about gunfire in an area known as 'Artificial Lakes' in Vanadzor, resulting in one man being hospitalized at the 'Vanadzor' medical center. Due to urgent operational-investigative measures taken by the police, it was revealed that the 40-year-old man had inflicted gunshot wounds on the youth at the 'Lakes' café. He was located and taken to the police station hours after the incident, suspected of causing gunshot wounds. Subsequent measures led to the discovery of the firearm that had been thrown into the river. The investigation into the criminal cases is ongoing.
