The Commissioner Establishes a New Exception for Movement Restrictions

The Commissioner has added a new point to the exceptions for the restriction of free movement of people in emergency situations, allowing participation in the general elections of the Republic of Artsakh. This is in cases where an individual possesses a filled-out paper or mobile application sheet as per the format specified in the annex of this decision, along with an identification document.

This information was relayed in the Commissioner’s decisions: "Guided by the Government of the Republic of Armenia’s decision number 298-N dated March 16, 2020, regarding the declaration of a state of emergency in Armenia, the second point of the Commissioner’s decision number 16 dated March 24, 2020, on the restrictions of movement of individuals throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia is amended as follows: On March 31 of this year, for the purpose of participating in the general elections of the Republic of Artsakh, upon the presence of a filled-out paper or mobile application sheet as per the format specified in this decision's annex and an identification document at the permanent representation of Artsakh in the Republic of Armenia (address: Yerevan, Nairi Zaryan 17a/2 street)," the decision states.

Moreover, the third point of the decision is formulated with the following wording: “The Chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Sargsyan, shall ensure the implementation of the requirements of this decision. The Police of the Republic of Armenia shall be responsible for verifying the presence of the documents and writings specified in the first, second, third, and fourth sub-points of the second point of this decision.”

This decision comes into force upon publication.
