The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Collects Data on Citizens Abroad

In the context of the global fight against the new type of coronavirus, various countries have restricted and continue to restrict access to their airspace and air communication, significantly complicating the organization of the return of Armenian citizens to Armenia.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia: “In this regard, we urge our citizens to check in advance the availability of transit flights. Additionally, according to a decision by the Russian government, henceforth, regular and charter flights providing the return of foreign citizens to foreign states (so-called transit flights) will not be carried out from Russian airports.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic representations of Armenia are collecting data on the issues and information of Armenian citizens abroad to assess and implement possible support options. The Armenian diplomatic representations are in constant contact with our citizens abroad and those who have reached out to the diplomatic representations, and steps are being taken to address the issues raised by them as much as possible.

We urge Armenian citizens abroad to maintain contact with the local Armenian diplomatic representations so that they can provide appropriate support within their capabilities. We once again call on our citizens abroad, given the impossibility of returning to the homeland under the current circumstances, to follow the instructions for combating coronavirus issued in the countries where they are present, to adhere to the measures being implemented, to remain calm while soberly assessing the situation,” the statement noted.
