Video: Inspections in the Capital and Regions, Individuals Violating Guidelines Fined

The decision of the Governor aims to prevent the potential spread of the new coronavirus. Citizens must carry an official document containing the information specified by the Governor's decision, along with an identity verification document, the absence of which incurs legal liability.

On March 25, various units of the Police of the Republic of Armenia conducted inspections in the streets. Several citizens were identified who did not possess the aforementioned document. Administrative offense reports were drawn up against them.

Those who lacked an identity document were taken to territorial units, where their identity was confirmed and reports were compiled. By 7 PM, 78 administrative offense reports had been filed against individuals, 40 in the capital and 38 in the regions. 659 drivers transported more passengers than allowed in their personal vehicles, and those passengers were disembarked. Administrative offense reports were also drawn up against 6 drivers conducting regular passenger transport who carried more passengers than permitted.

It is reminded that during the state of emergency declared on the basis of an extraordinary situation, violating the rules of isolation or self-isolation, or any other restrictions on the right to free movement leads to fines ranging from 100,000 to 250,000 drams. The population is once again urged to strictly limit leaving their homes and to do so only in cases of extreme necessity while complying with the requirements set forth by the Governor's decision.
