Murder in Ejmiadzin: Body of 53-Year-Old Man Found in Apartment

A murder occurred today in the Armavir region. At approximately 11:00 AM, the police department of Vagharshapat received a call from the Vagharshapat Medical Center reporting that an emergency medical team had responded to an apartment in building 16 of the 'Charents' neighborhood in the city of Ejmiadzin, where a man's body was found.

Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that police and investigators arrived promptly at the scene and determined that the deceased, who according to preliminary conclusions by the forensic expert had multiple traces of blows to the head, was identified as 53-year-old N. Avetisyan, a resident of the aforementioned apartment.

Shamshyan also reports that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The police and the investigative department are conducting necessary operational-search and investigative actions to reveal the crime and identify the perpetrator(s).

Several citizens gathered at the scene, who refused to speak on camera, stated that the police and investigators had identified a suspect based on hot trails. However, police and investigators mentioned that work is still ongoing along that line.
