All Tournaments Under the Auspices of the HFF Suspended Until April 14

The current situation in European football was discussed today during an online meeting attended by the UEFA executive team and the presidents and general secretaries of UEFA's 55 member associations. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin announced that, due to the coronavirus pandemic, UEFA is postponing all tournaments held under its auspices and moving the EURO 2020 tournament to 2021. The discussion participants emphasized the importance of concluding European club competitions and national championships.

A working group has been formed by UEFA, which will discuss the scheduling and format of club competitions until March 31. National associations will work closely with European football's governing body to address the emerging issues.

According to the HFF press service, following the meeting, HFF President Armen Melikbekyan communicated online with members of the HFF Executive Committee, presenting the results of the discussion with UEFA's leadership. The HFF President informed the Executive Committee members that, based on the Armenian government’s decision No. 298-N on March 16, 2020, declaring a state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Premier League and First League championships have been suspended until April 14, 2020, along with all other tournaments conducted under the auspices of the Armenian Football Federation (HFF) and the operations of all infrastructures under HFF supervision.

A working group has been formed within the HFF that will stay in contact with the working group established at UEFA over the next two weeks to develop the timelines and formats for the continuation of the national championship. Decisions will be made considering not only the discussions of the working group but also the situation caused by the spread of the coronavirus in Armenia and the decisions of the Armenian government.
