Prominent Athletes to Receive Honorary Awards, Julfalakyan

Arsen Julfalakyan posted on his Facebook page: “Good news for title-holding athletes; the government has finally approved the decision on lifelong honorary awards for Olympic champions and medalists, as well as winners and medalists of the World Chess Olympiad, and world champions (Olympic sports + chess and sambo) who are citizens of Armenia and reside in the country.

Accordingly:

• Olympic Champion - 200,000 AMD (previously 100,000 AMD)
• Olympic Runner-up - 140,000 AMD (previously non-existent)
• Olympic Bronze Medalist - 100,000 AMD (previously non-existent)
• World Champion - 100,000 AMD (previously 55,000 AMD)

This is an acknowledgment of the significant contributions of our distinguished athletes to global sports.
