500 Employees at Textile Factory in Self-Isolation: Meeting at the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations is receiving a significant number of calls during the period of coronavirus detection in Armenia, though the situation remains not worrisome. To provide citizens with the most useful advice and preventive assistance, a meeting-discussion was held on March 17 at the Ministry of Emergency Situations in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Lusine Paronyan, an epidemiologist from the Health Ministry's Disease Control and Prevention Department, was a guest at the ministry. Attendees included staff from the National Crisis Management Center and the Medical Supply Department. Representatives from the regional rescue department of the MES followed the discussion via video link and addressed their questions to the epidemiologist.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the employees of the '911' service more thoroughly with the prevention methods against the coronavirus, enabling them to provide more accessible and educated information to the public. Possible preventive measures that rescuers should apply when responding to incidents were discussed.

Dr. Paronyan informed that there is a hotline operating at the Ministry of Health that provides consultation to citizens around the clock. For more specialized advice, citizens can call the hotline numbers 80-03 and 060-83-83-00. She also noted the existence of a professional online platform, NCDC.am, where comprehensive information about the coronavirus can be found.

The speaker advised that citizens noticing epidemiological symptoms should be directed to their local polyclinic. According to the Health Ministry representative, one of the best methods for preventing the virus is to limit the scope of contacts.
