Visa-Free Travel Between Armenia and Iran Temporarily Suspended Due to Coronavirus
In light of the epidemic situation caused by the new type of coronavirus, the agreement on visa-free visits between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been temporarily suspended. This information was provided to Armenpress by the Department of Information and Public Diplomacy of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“By another decision of the Armenian government, starting from March 7 of this year, citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran are required to have a visa in advance for visiting Armenia. They must apply to Armenian embassies/consulates in foreign countries or obtain a visa through the E-VISA electronic system,” the statement said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informs that the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran is operating in emergency mode, therefore, consular receptions have been temporarily suspended, and a visa for entering Armenia can only be obtained through the E-VISA electronic system,” the statement added.
