Unprecedented Surgery Conducted at 'Nork Marash' Medical Center
For the first time in Armenia, an unprecedented surgery has been performed: the implantation of an artificial left ventricle. This was reported by the 'Nork Marash' Medical Center.
Little Angelina was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, which was incompatible with the child’s life. The only solution was to implant an artificial left ventricle, thus saving the child’s life.
The lengthy surgery successfully concluded thanks to the expertise of the surgical team. Little Angelina is currently in the intensive care unit.
It should be noted that doctors assessed she had only 2 days left to live. During this time, they managed to raise 70% of the funds for the heart surgery, while the remaining $30,000 was covered by the state budget as per the order of the Minister of Health. Angelina's father is a serviceman.
