The No Campaign Headquarters Has No Connection to Robert Kocharian: Leon Kocharian

Levon Kocharian, the younger son of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, addressed the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court and the campaign for a referendum on constitutional changes in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

Levon Kocharian believes that the current authorities initially tried to persuade the judges of the Constitutional Court to resign, and this began at some point because there was no problem initially, but later, pressures on the judges intensified.

"Seeing that they do not agree and do not do what was desired, they resorted to such a step, which is absurd in itself—to go back and change the transitional provisions, which have already been exhausted, meaning they have already been implemented. The authorities have started an illegal, unconstitutional process, the sole purpose of which is to have their own people in the Constitutional Court so that they can pass any decision later, thus we are not participating in this process in any way," he stated.

According to Kocharian, there is an attempt to associate the No campaign initiative group, formed by lawyers, with Robert Kocharian, but in reality, this is not the case, and the No campaign headquarters has no connection with the second president of Armenia.

"Moreover, if you look at the first ten names on the No list, you will see lawyers who were previously defenders of Nikol Pashinyan and the opposition," noted the son of the second president of Armenia.
