Fact: Spain May Open Embassy in Yerevan Soon

According to the newspaper "Fact," the current authorities are planning to reassess certain issues related to Armenia's diplomatic policy, and a process for establishing new diplomatic relations may begin in the near future.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to clarify some procedures regarding the embassies of countries that have diplomatic relations with Armenia.

In this regard, discussions are underway about relocating ambassadors from certain countries, primarily from those currently based in Moscow, to Yerevan.

Sources from the newspaper indicate that particularly, the transfer of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain from Moscow to Yerevan is not ruled out, which would effectively mean the opening of Spain's embassy in Armenia.

It is noteworthy that during the Munich Security Conference on February 15, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno.

To confirm this information, "Fact" contacted the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan. "Whether Spain will bring its embassy to Armenia or not, you can ask the Spanish side; that question should be directed to the Spanish Foreign Ministry. I cannot say whether they are discussing this issue or not. At this moment, I do not have such information," said Naghdalyan.
