NSS Refuses to Initiate Criminal Case Against PM Pashinyan for Actions Against Constitutional Order

The National Security Service (NSS) has refused to initiate a criminal case regarding actions taken by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that allegedly violate the principles of constitutional order and state security. This information was provided to 'Factinfo' by lawyer Mihran Poghosyan.

Recall that on January 30, lawyer Mihran Poghosyan submitted a report to the NSS concerning actions carried out by representatives of the highest authorities in Armenia, particularly by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which the lawyer believes contain signs of criminal acts.

According to Poghosyan, there are apparent characteristics of exceeding official powers and abuse of official position. Additionally, public calls made by Pashinyan reflect indicators of criminal activities aimed against the foundations of constitutional order and state security.

'A situation has developed in Armenia where even this has not been viewed as a report. They responded in writing that no criminal case will be initiated. That’s all,' Poghosyan noted, emphasizing that a political decision has been made.

'In the current government’s case, criminal cases directly related to the leadership of the ruling government will not be revealed or initiated,' Poghosyan stated, recalling the Prime Minister's calls to block the courts, which clearly illustrate what has happened in Armenia. Meanwhile, the Special Investigative Service has refused to conduct an investigation in that regard.

According to him, again, judging by the Prime Minister's call, it is evident what is happening, and once again, no criminal case is initiated.

'These are the criminal cases that will be of great importance for the future restoration of Armenia as a legal state. In this case, even without having such authority, investigative bodies do not even bring this up for discussion,' Poghosyan said.

Mihran Poghosyan's report specifically pertains to actions aimed at seizing the powers of the Constitutional Court and the dissolution of the principles established by the Constitution of Armenia concerning the separation of powers as a legal state.
