Coronavirus Reaches Lebanon

The Lebanese Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, has announced the registration of the first case of coronavirus infection in the country. This was reported by the Lebanese television channel al-Mayadeen on February 21.

The Lebanese national suspected of having the virus arrived on a flight from Iran. According to a source from the Beirut International Airport cited by RIA Novosti, he has been transferred to Rafik Hariri Hospital.

It is noteworthy that on February 21, Iranian authorities reported 18 cases of coronavirus infection in the cities of Qom, Arak, Tehran, and Gilan, with eight of those cases resulting in death.
