Roads Closed and Impassable; Snow Falling in Several Regions

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 12 at 08:35, there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads connecting Ishkhanasar to Goris in Syunik province and the roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Karih Lake in Aragatsotn province are closed. The Vardenyats mountain pass is closed for trucks with trailers and is difficult for other vehicles.

Snowfall is reported on the Goris-Sisian and Sotk-Karvachar roads. The road from Goris to Harjis in Syunik is closed to all types of vehicles. The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult to traverse.

Black ice is present in various sections of roads in Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, and Shirak provinces, as well as in the inter-community roads of Aparan and Aragats in Aragatsotn province. Snow is falling in Jejrmuq of Vayots Dzor province, Charenzavan and Hrazdan cities in Kotayk province along the Saravan-Zanger section.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. According to the Russian side, more than 1,000 trucks are accumulated on the Russian side.
