New Scandal Brewing in the Ministry of Defense
The newspaper "Zhoghavorud" reports: "A new scandal is brewing in the Ministry of Defense. According to the newspaper's sources, an investigation has been conducted at the Ministry of Defense, revealing new details regarding Colonel Arthur Galstyan, head of the Military Cartography Department of the RA Armed Forces General Staff.
Specifically, Colonel Galstyan announced a two-stage competition for the purchase of several hundred navigation devices for the needs of the Ministry of Defense in 2018-2019. However, companies that won the bids in both stages were excluded from the competition due to various circumstances. Colonel Galstyan has again announced a competition for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, in which the company "Geoshin Group," owned by his sister-in-law Kristine Mesropyan, participated, and a contract worth around 30 million drams was signed with them.
In an interview with the newspaper, Colonel Arthur Galstyan stated, "I have nothing to do with this; the Department of Material and Technical Supply handles it. I am neither a member of the commission nor the person submitting the application." Despite the colonel denying any involvement, suspicions linger within the ministry that Arthur Galstyan is conducting business through his relatives, as one competition is won by his wife's sister's company, and another by his uncle's son's company, one of which is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities."
