New Petition for Release of Armen Tavadyan on Personal Guarantee Submitted to Prosecutor's Office
A new petition has been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office for the release of Armen Tavadyan, owner of Channel 5, on personal guarantee. This was reported by Factinfo.
According to Tavadyan's defense attorney, the following individuals have guaranteed for him: former Vice President of the National Assembly Arpine Hovhannisyan, former Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Ruben Melikyan, Armenia's first Human Rights Defender Larisa Alaverdyan, political technologist Karen Kocharyan, member of the 'Alternative Projects Group' Elinar Vardanyan, economist Vardan Bostanjyan, military-political figure Gevorg Gevorgyan, political analyst Artzrun Pepanyan, writer and publicist Spartak Gharabaghtsyanyan, and executive director of Channel 5 Harutyun Harutyunyan.
The new petition for Tavadyan's release on personal guarantee also challenges the decision of the investigator of the Special Investigative Service to place a lien on Tavadyan's property.
