Human Rights Defender Meets with Students from Yerevan School No. 132

The Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan, met on February 12 with 8th-grade students from Yerevan's Hovhannes Isakyan School No. 132.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Human Rights Defender's Office, the Defender presented the office's activities aimed at protecting children's rights. He spoke about the children.ombuds.am website, which provides children, teachers, and parents the opportunity to learn about children's rights, rules for safe internet usage, and more.

The students asked the Human Rights Defender numerous questions, most of which concerned student-teacher relationships. “Mutual respect must always be maintained in the student-teacher relationship. Children have the right to be heard, and teachers should prioritize the best interests of the child when addressing any issues related to students. However, children must always remember not only their rights but also their responsibilities,” said the Human Rights Defender.

At the end of the meeting, Arman Tatoyan encouraged the children to study well and provided advice on safe internet usage.
