Emergency Situation in Syunik: Over 150 Vehicles Unable to Move

On February 11, an emergency situation has arisen in the Syunik region due to adverse weather conditions, particularly heavy snowfall. According to Shamshyan.com, on the section of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway at the 205 km mark, in the administrative area of Sisian, and also at the 235 km mark of the same road in the administrative area of Goris, more than 150 vehicles are unable to move.

Citizens trapped in the blockade stated, “We were going to a military oath ceremony, but we reached Ishkhanasar and cannot reach Goris. We have spent the whole night under the open sky. We are still at the Ishkhanasar intersection. Among those waiting are children, elderly people, and even pregnant women.”

Some drivers are also unable to reach Sisian from Goris. According to the report, the work to clear the road is being hindered by the strong snowstorm, which fills the cleared road with a thick layer of snow again after it has been opened.
