Blizzard in the Chains of Chayni: New Data on Road Conditions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 10, at 23:30, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province, as well as the Martiros-Sers and Abovyan-Jraberd roads in Vayots Dzor and Kotayk provinces, are closed.
The Vardenyats Pass, the Saravan-Zanger section (currently experiencing a blizzard) is closed for trailers, and difficult to navigate for other vehicles.
Roads in the Chayni twists (affected by blizzard), Jermuk-Gndevaz (blizzard), Sotk-Karvachar, and intercommunity roads in the Aragatsotn Province (in Aparan and Aragats) are difficult to pass.
There is black ice present in places on the roads of Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, and Shirak provinces.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Management Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepanavan-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.
