Roads Closed and Impassable in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 9 at 09:30, there are closed and impassable roads in Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karvachar road are closed to all types of vehicles. The Dilijan tunnel is closed for trucks and impassable for passenger cars. The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province are also closed.

All roads in the Syunik Province, as well as the Yerevan-Sevan, Vanadzor-Dilijan, Vanadzor-Pambak, Sisian-Vayk roads, and the road leading to Tsovagugh in Gegharkunik Province, are impassable.

In the Kotayk, Syunik, and Gegharkunik provinces, as well as in the regions of Kuchak, Aparan, and Tsaghkadzor in Aragatsotn Province, there are spots of black ice on the roads. In the Aparan region of Aragatsotn Province, there is a snowstorm.

Snowfall has also been reported in the cities of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, Vardenis, Martuni, and Chambarak in Gegharkunik Province, as well as in the village of Sotk.

Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles. The Russian authorities have reported that there are 940 trucks, 60 passenger cars, 1 bus, and 4 minibuses stranded on the Russian side.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
