Snowfall in Certain Communities of Armenia; Blizzard on Vardenyats Pass
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 4 at 14:00, there are closed and difficult-to-access roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is experiencing a blizzard, making the road to Amberd Fortress and the road to Kar Lake closed for all types of vehicles.
Snowfall is also present on the Sotk-Karmirsheni road (blizzard), as well as on the Kuchak-Yeghegnadzor and Kuchak-Jrambar roads, which are difficult to traverse for all vehicles.
Black ice is observed on some roads in Shirak and Syunik provinces.
Snow is falling in the Tigranashen turns, as well as in Shirak, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor (particularly in Yeghegnadzor and Jermuk), Lori (in Spitak), Gegharkunik (in Martuni), and in Aragatsotn province (in Ashtarak, Aparan, and the Saravan-Zanger-Sisian section).
In Gegharkunik province, in the region of Tsaghkashar in Aragatsotn, as well as on the Aparan-Kuchak and Yerevan-Sevan roads, a blizzard is taking place.
On the 57th km of the Yerevan-Sevan road and on the section leading to Tsovagugh, there is a blizzard and low visibility.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for heavy trucks. Currently, there are 590 heavy vehicles accumulated on the Russian side.
