Major Fire Erupts in Arzvaberd Forestry Area

On February 4, at 11:34 AM, the 911 emergency call center received information about a fire in the 5th compartment of the "Arzvaberd Forestry" located in the area known as "Hin Berd." Emergency responders from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched one fire-rescue team along with 17 rescue personnel from the civil protection units based in Aygepar, Movses, and Nerkin Karmiraghbyur.

It was determined that grasslands were burning in the areas known as "Sayini Jalat" and "Lghots." The fire was contained by 4:35 PM. Approximately 15 hectares of grass, shrubbery, six tree branches, and 50 stumps were burned. Ten employees of the "Arzvaberd Forestry" branch of the "Hayantar" SNCO participated in the firefighting efforts. Due to darkness and the complex terrain, firefighting operations were temporarily halted at 6:55 PM, with no risk of further spread of the fire. A watch duty has been established by the employees of the "Arzvaberd Forestry" branch of "Hayantar" SNCO.
