FC Urartu Acquires New Brazilian Defender
The Yerevan-based FC Urartu football club has bolstered its squad with a new signing. The club's press service has announced that they have signed a contract with 26-year-old Brazilian left back Ebert Cardoso.
Cardoso is a graduate of the Brazilian club Internacional and has also played for Ukrainian club Stal. In the last season, Ebert competed in the top division of Bulgarian football, featuring for FC Botev Plovdiv where he made 31 appearances and scored 1 goal.
The Armenian football championship is set to resume on February 28. Currently, the top of the table is led by Lori FC with 28 points. Ararat-Armenia, Alashkert, and Ararat follow closely behind, each with 27 points. Shirak stands in fifth place with 25 points, while Noah has accumulated 24 points. FC Pyunik has 20 points, Urartu holds 17, and Gandzasar-Kapan has 14 points. Yerevan FC has yet to earn a point.
