Simon Martirosyan Takes Second Place at Iran's Tournament

Member of the Armenian weightlifting team, world and European champion, and Olympic gold medalist Simon Martirosyan took second place at Iran's qualifying tournament.

At the Olympic qualifying Fajr Cup in Iran, Martirosyan lifted 180 kg in the snatch and 230 kg in the clean and jerk, resulting in a total lift of 410 kg that secured him the second position.

In this weight category, Ruben Aleksanyan did not participate in the tournament due to injury, although he traveled to Iran with the team.
