Armenia Expects to Receive an Additional 200 Coronavirus Diagnostic Tests from WHO
On February 4, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, a meeting of the inter-agency commission coordinating the prevention of the spread of the new type of coronavirus in the Republic of Armenia was held. This was reported by Tigran Avinyan's office.
Tigran Avinyan stated that the meeting would discuss the current situation related to the new type of coronavirus, the preventive measures that have already been taken, the issues faced by Armenian citizens wishing to return from China, and the necessity of further steps.
Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented the overall situation, the work being done with international partners, and the activities of the Armenian Embassy in China aimed at providing round-the-clock support to Armenian citizens.
Health Minister Arsen Torosyan outlined the preventive measures being implemented, as well as the steps being taken to raise public awareness. He also noted that they expect to receive an additional 200 diagnostic tests from the World Health Organization soon.
It was instructed to explore the possibility of providing assistance to Armenian citizens facing difficulties in China as soon as possible.
