Renovation of Food Point Adjacent to Mashtots Park Underway: Hakob Karapetyan

The spokesperson of the Mayor of Yerevan, Hakob Karapetyan, responded on his Facebook page to certain photos published online. He stated, "Citizen Tigran Khzmalyan has published photos that might create the impression that a new construction is being erected at the expense of public space in Mashtots Park. Months ago, I wrote about this, and now I am forced to repeat: the food facility operating in the same area for decades is being renovated, which is built with light metal structures, in the section adjacent to Mashtots Park. It is important to emphasize that the CONSTRUCTION AREA IS NOT INCREASING; on the contrary, at the request of the municipal authorities, the area occupied by the building has been significantly reduced. Once again, I would like to specifically note (although Mr. Khzmalyan could have verified it on site before posting) that not a single inch of park land has been lost and will not be lost.

Nevertheless, for the sake of truth, the city did benefit from Tigran Khzmalyan's post. Thanks to it, the employees of the city hall's external advertising department noted the presence of an advertisement with linguistic violations and are currently taking it down. Thank you," he wrote.
