Armenian Citizens in China Urged to Check Flight Details Before Traveling, MFA Says
Citizens currently in China are advised to check with their airline before heading to the airport to confirm flight details. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
According to the Armenian Embassy in the PRC, due to the situation regarding the spread of coronavirus in China, several international airlines are gradually restricting flights from Beijing and other cities in China. Citizens in China are urged to contact their airline before going to the airport to verify the status of their flights.
On February 1, a group of Armenian citizens had their registration with Ural Airlines for flights denied. Concurrently, citizens of several other countries were also denied registration for the same flight. Flight tickets were refunded.
The Armenian Embassy in China advised Armenian citizens to move to the nearest city from where it may be possible to travel to Armenia with other airlines, ensuring they check the regulations of the respective airline in advance.
Efforts are being made by the embassy and the MFA of Armenia to prevent such developments. Meanwhile, the embassy is in constant contact with all Armenian citizens located in China who have reached out and is responding to all inquiries.
