Former Newcastle United Player Joins Ararat-Armenia
Armenian football champion Ararat-Armenia has announced a new signing: 33-year-old French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has joined the club.
Gourcuff has previously played for French clubs Rennes and Bordeaux, as well as English side Newcastle United, among others. During his time with Bordeaux, Gourcuff won the French championship, the cup, and the Supercup twice.
The Armenian league is set to resume on February 28. Currently, the top of the league table is led by Lori with 28 points. Ararat-Armenia, Alashkert, and Ararat each have 27 points. Shirak sits in fifth place with 25 points, followed by Noah with 24 points. Pyunik has 20 points, Urartu has 17, and Gandzasar-Kapan has 14 points. Yerevan remains at the bottom with no points.
