China Reclaims Medical Masks Sold to Several Countries
Due to the widespread coronavirus in China, the country has exhausted its supply of medical masks used for infection prevention. This information was reported by En Son Haber.
Today, China finds itself in need of medical masks, which is why it is forced to buy back masks it had previously exported to other countries. Specifically, Erhan Demirel, the director of a medical center in Denizli, Turkey, announced that 300,000 medical masks purchased from China earlier are being prepared for return.
Demirel mentioned that his office and personal phone have been bombarded with calls from various countries, with requests also coming via the internet to sell them masks. “We receive calls from everywhere, asking to buy 1 million, 5 million, 10 million, or even 100 million masks. Due to the scarcity, it has become a very valuable product. They don’t even ask about the price; they only inquire about availability. At this moment, masks have become more precious than gold,” said the medical center's director, also noting that some individuals are taking advantage of the situation by reselling masks at double or triple the price.
China is the world's largest producer of medical masks, which it used to export to various countries before the coronavirus emerged.
