State of Emergency Declared in Italy Due to Coronavirus

The Italian Council of Ministers has declared a state of emergency in the country following the detection of two cases of coronavirus, as reported by Reuters.

The illness has been confirmed in two Chinese tourists who arrived in Rome. Italy's Health Minister Roberto Speranza has ordered the suspension of flights to and from China.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. The causative agent of the disease is a new type of nCoV coronavirus.
