Vardenyats Pass Closed for Trucks, Roads Difficult to Navigate
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of January 23 at 18:50, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks and difficult to navigate for passenger vehicles.
The Sotk-Karvajar road is difficult to navigate for trucks, but is open for other types of vehicles. In the Syunik region, the Goris-Sisian road, and in the Aragatsotn region, the Talin-Nerqin Bazmaberd road, there are patches of black ice.
Snowfall is occurring in Yerevan, the town of Sevan in Gegharkunik province, as well as in Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Lori, and in the Shirak region’s Ashotsk area, and in Artashat town of Ararat province.
The Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires for travel.
