4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded, Felt in Gyumri and Spitak

On January 18, at 05:28 local time (01:28 GMT), a 4.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The epicenter was located 10 kilometers southeast of the village of Ashotzk, at a depth of 10 kilometers, with geographical coordinates of 40.950° N latitude and 43.990° E longitude.

The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral area was assessed at 4-5 points on the seismic scale. The earthquake was felt in various locations, including Spitak in the Lori Province, as well as in the villages of Hartagyu (Khaltakhchi) and Shirakamut, and in the city of Gyumri in the Shirak Province, along with the villages of Jajur and Ashotzk.
